📘 Overview
This article outlines the procedure for replacing batteries in all InVue LIVE Lock models, including the Slider Lock, Plunger Lock, and Cam Lock variants. This ensures optimal performance and uninterrupted functionality of the security locks.
🛠️ Environment
This procedure applies to the following InVue LIVE Locks:
- Slider LIVE Lock: LL101-B
- Plunger LIVE Lock: LL201-B
- Cam LIVE Lock: LL301-B
- U-LOCK (LIVE) - LL401-B
Tool Required:
- InVue Magnet Tool (Order Code: DBG400)
Battery Type:
- 2x CR123A (3V)
🚀 Steps / Implementation Details
- Use the InVue Magnet Tool (DBG400) to unlock and remove the battery lid on the LIVE Lock.
📺 Refer to the instructional video below for a visual guide on removing the lid.
- After the lid is removed, proceed to replace the two CR123A (3V) batteries inside the lock.
- If performing a power cycle on the lock, no need to replace the batteries:
- Simply removing the current batteries for 4 minutes and then putting them back in should allow the power cycle to go through; 4 minutes being the designated timeframe for the lock to shutdown.
- The powercycle of any LIVE Locks is used to troubleshoot unresponsive locks, and its results are better when proceeded with a physical IR4 OneKEY in check out mode.
- Ensure the battery prongs are in an angled position to maintain correct contact.
🔗 Refer to this article for an example of the proper battery prong alignment.
✅ Expected Result
After replacing the batteries and reattaching the lid, the LIVE Lock should power on and function normally without errors or power interruptions.
🧯 Common Issues / Errors
| Error Message / Symptom | Possible Cause | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Lock not powering on | Batteries inserted incorrectly | Re-check polarity and prong alignment |
| Loose battery fit | Bent or flattened prongs | Adjust prongs to ensure angled contact |
| Lid not reattaching properly | Improper alignment or obstruction | Confirm correct lid orientation and retry |
