S1060 security devices were built with cross merchandising in mind.
Ask the customer if there are any of the same stands that are working in or around the location.
If all stands of the same product are not working:
1. Plug in something other than security into the same outlet/surge protector (Ex. light, personal cell phone charger, etc).
- Potential Outcome 1: The outlet is not receiving electricity. The customer will need to reach out to their facilities or building management team.
If they have some stands of the same product that is working:
You need to identify the exact component that is causing the issue. To do this:
- Remove 1 device (keeping the sensor attached to the device) from a non-working stand and 1 device (keeping the sensor attached to the device) from a working stand.
- Install the previously working device onto the "non-working" stand and the previously non-working device to the previously working stand.
- Potential Outcome 1: The "non-working" Merchandise on the working stand starts powering the device and the working Merchandise on the "non-working" stand continues not to power the device.
- Findings: This indicates the problem lies with the stand.
- Check to make sure the outlet is working and the stand is plugged into the correct power supply (Must be InVue and USB-A (PS515-US) or 5-Pin (PS531-US).
- If still not working then check the warranty on the stand and follow proper procedure to Return the product to Quality for in-house testing.
- Findings: This indicates the problem lies with the stand.
- Potential Outcome 2: The "non-working" merchandise on the working stand continues not to work and the working merchandise on the "non-working" stand begins to power
- Findings: This indicates the problem lies with the sensor or the power connector.
- Once you identify this as the problem, you will need to remove the sensor and switch it for a new one if they have an extra one to try. If you are doing this step, you do not need to reapply the adhesive until it confirmed to be the sensor or the power connector. To test, switch the sensor for a new sensor. Hold the yellow plunger on the sensor down with your finger and connect the phone to the power connector. Does the unit power?
- If yes, then check the warranty on your old sensor. If it falls within warranty, a RMA can be issued for credit.
- If no, physical testing by InVue Quality will need to be performed. Note: If your sensor is a Type-C connector, check the order code. If the order code is DRH202-W this order code was obsoleted and replaced with DRH207-W to accommodate the more powerful devices.
